Frustrations almost outweigh its good points
Much as I like some aspects of Dragon Story - the variety and interesting design of dragons, for one - too many aspects of the game are horribly frustrating.
Ive completely abandoned my Frozen Isle because its impossible to breed most of the dragons and theres no real benefit to the entire area, especially considering the high cost of raising dragons there.
Breeding in the main game area isnt much better. Boosted breeding is a complete waste of resources - I think Ive had more Magic and Fruitful dragons with boosted breeding than without. And thats really saying something, considering how often those normally turn up. Beyond the colours, theres no logic to which particular dragons will combine to get a desired result - rarity or common traits dont have any useful effect.
Any dragon that requires collecting objects, whether through mining or battle arena, simply isnt obtainable without either waking up hourly to play another round and playing all day at work or else spending far too much real life money to buy missing resources. Events should occasionally use resources that were previously used and stored, just to give folks a boost in actually accomplishing something and clear some of the useless junk out of storage.
Ive taken several breaks from this game in the past when Ive gotten fed up with it. I suspect Ill be taking one again soon, as my frustration with the battle arena in particular is getting out of hand. I dont care what the matchup is, a level 1 common dragon should never, ever beat a level 13 rare dragon. Period. Very, very poor logic in the fights. Just as bad as that in the breeding.
This could be a great game. Unfortunately, "could" doesnt mean much.
